FAQ (pricing)

This is a short list of questions that I get somewhat often, so I figured I would list them here. If you have a question that isn’t listed, you can post it in the comments and I’ll add it to the list if it’s applicable.

  1. Why do I have to pay a deposit?
    • A deposit does two things. First, it tells me that the client is serious about the project and creates a financial obligation to you, the client, to see the project through to the end. It’s a way for me, as a contractor, to protect myself against clients who are just “kicking the tires” of an idea.
    • Secondly, a deposit helps to offset the overhead associated with working on an “accounts receivables” type of schedule.
  2. How does your pricing work?
    • Being that this is a very subjective type of work, there is no set pricing on most jobs. The only time this isn’t the case is when you are paying an hourly rate, in which case my hourly rate is $35/hr. ($25/hr for hosted clients)
  3. How do refunds work?
    • My refund policy works as follows:

Deposits are non-refundable, unless the fault is mine. (ie. – If the job cannot be completed because you omitted a crucial piece of informaiton, like your web host doesnt support a feature you want, then you are not entitled to a refund… however, if I have been provided all necessary information and am unable to complete the project to the specifications we agreed on at the onset, then you are entitled to a 50% refund of the deposit, and a full refund of any money paid out beyond the deposit.).

    • In short, the deposit is 50% refundable, should you not be the one in breach of contract. But, if you are in breach, you are not entitled to a refund.

This page is still under construction, as more questions come in that I think would be helpful to everyone.
